BJP leader Amit Malviya recently shared an image comparing the number of rail accidents that occurred under the Congress between 2004 and 2014, and under the BJP from 2014 to 2024. According to the graphic he shared, there were 1,711 rail accidents during the Congress regime, while the BJP witnessed 678 accidents. Additionally, the BJP allocated ₹8.26 lakh crore for safety expenditures, whereas the Congress spent ₹1.64 lakh crore. It’s interesting to see how these figures differ across the two political periods.
Moreover, BJP leaders are not ready to accept their mistake; instead, they maintain that they have allocated a sufficient amount of money for safety precautions. It is not inappropriate to compare past records, but it is certainly misguided to believe that their current errors are not mistakes. The opposition in any country exists to highlight the mistakes of the ruling government and communicate them to the public. Instead of acknowledging them as references, the present government is dismissing their mistakes, which will remain in the public's minds.
